Courses and Classes
Glenlyn Academy offers a wide range of performing arts Courses and Classes for three to 18 year olds as well as adults. Our courses and classes give students the skills, techniques and knowledge required to develop into first class performers and eventually pursue a career in the performing arts. They also cater for those students who are not pursuing a career in the performing; those who just want to experience the sheer enjoyment of performing and learning.
Our courses include classes in Ballet, Tap, Technical Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Street Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acting, Singing and Acrobatics. Please refer to each course to see the specific classes taught as part of that curriculum.
New students are not required to audition to join the Academy and following registration will be placed in one of four ability groups; 1st Steps, Pre-Foundation (Level 1), Foundation (Level 1), Intermediate (Level 2), Advanced (Level 3 & 4). Our curriculum is delivered in association with the NATD (National Association of Teachers of Dancing) and LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). All courses are recognised and accredited by Ofqual and the CDET (Council for Dance Education and Training).
Students can choose to take single and extra classes that are not part of a course in Ballet, Tap, Technical Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Street Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acting, Singing and Acrobatics. Students are not required to enrol onto packaged courses and can just register onto single classes. However there are a number of benefits that come with our packaged courses.
